SURFACE REQUIREMENTS
The surface must be dry, clean and free of dust, rust and grease.
PRELIMINARY SURFACE TREATMENT
Thoroughly clean the substrate using an abrasive and carefully remove old sealant residue (mechanically or by using a sealant remover). Please make certain that the part of the substrate to be exposed remains undamaged. Treat irregularities in the surface, such as deep tile joints, with a fine filler. Carefully degrease the substrate using methylated spirits, acetone (not suitable for plastics) or ammonia. Please note: Do not use benzine, white spirits or thinner to degrease. Make sure that the substrate is completely dry.
TOOLS
Scissors, cutter.
COVERAGE
Contents suitable for 3.35 m.
DURING USE
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
1. Thoroughly clean the surface with an abrasive and remove old sealant residue. Treat irregularities, such as deep tile joints, with a fine filler. Degrease the surface with methylated spirits, acetone or ammonia (not white spirit!) and allow to dry. 2. Always start with the longest joint. Cut the sealant strip to the required length, observing 10-15 mm margin. 3. Fold the strip in half along its entire length (figure 1). For better adherence warm up application surface (tiles / bath) with the hair dryer. 4. Remove a small section of the protective film. Place the exposed part of the strip on the joint and remove the protective film. Apply the strip while firmly pressing downward (figure 2). Attention: make sure to hold the strip under an angle of 90 degrees while applying and to press firmly to create optimal and maximum contact. Do not stretch the strip as you press. 5. Cut off the excess strip at the end. 6. Make sure the strip adheres well (especially on the tile joints), then apply the other strip(s) in the same way. 7. In corners, overlap the strips. Cut the overlapping parts at an angle (45°) and remove the pieces. To finish, press the corner joint firmly again. Warm up the strip with the hair dryer immediately after fixation during 10 seconds.
ADVICE
In order to prevent any condensation, it is best to heat the substrate for a moment using a hair dryer. If the strip is somewhat stiff, it can be softened by preheating it. To do so, use a hair dryer or place the strip on the radiator for a little while. This will make it easier to press down the strip. For parts with major movement and for coarse substrates, a liquid Silicone Sealant is the most suitable.
POINTS OF ATTENTION
Please wait 24 hours before using the sanitary facilities. Before use, make sure the strip adheres well everywhere.
AFTER USE
STAINS/RESIDUE
Remove tape residue by blotting it with the adhesive side of a leftover sealant strip or by dissolving it with white spirits.
